JUMPING FROG FARM is a working farm and we utilize the talents of Great Pyrenees Livestock Guardian Dogs (LGD) to protect our valuable herds of goats and our flocks of chickens.

CONTACT:  For more information or questions about our Great Pyrenees Puppy Program contact us at jumpingfrogfarm@yahoo.com or call 770-722-4241.

RESERVE:  A $250 nonrefundable deposit is required to reserve a puppy.

PRICE:  Puppies are $750 to $850 with full registration. Outstanding balance is due when puppies turn 6 weeks old.  If the outstanding balance is not received at that time, we will assume the family will not be adopting a puppy and therefore the puppy will be sold to another family.

CERTIFICATIONS:  The standards on our farm are very high.  We are an Animal Welfare Approved  / A Greener World certified farm.  This certification has the highest and strictest farm animal welfare standards in the world.  All of our animals (goats, chickens and LGDs) have been audited and certified as providing the most humane care for our animals.  This includes strict food requirements, excellent shelter/housing requirements, extensive medical care requirements and detailed documentation of each animal.  We are also an AKC Registered Breeder, certified as a Quality Meat Goat Producer and inspected and licensed through the USDA.  We are a NRCS Award Winner as well.  NOTE:  Please review the testimonials about our puppy program in the menu bar above.

HEALTH:  We are not a backyard breeder.  We specialize in high quality LGDs and breed only a limited number of litters.  Our breeding program focuses on AKC registered dogs with sound mind and body.  Our goal is to have all of our breeding LGDs as OFA certified for Good or Excellent on hips, and also Normal on shoulders, elbows and knees.  They have also been health checked for eye and heart disease.  We select dogs who have long productive lives as livestock or family guardians.  We select only those with very strong bonding instincts and loyalty to the herd/family.  We do not show our dogs, but focus on producing strong, healthy, dependable working dogs that will give many years of service.  An outstanding LGD is worth his weight in gold to a farmer, and we are proud to say that we have never lost a goat to predators.  We live in a coyote and feral-dog haven, so we are very grateful to our faithful guardians.  While at the same time, these dogs also have to be gentle with our newborn animals and responsive to us when needed.

CARE:  Our dogs are provided with the best care which include high quality dog food, and monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention.  They are also given annual vaccinations and vet checks.  And although they are full-time working animals, we check them on a daily basis, provide regular ear cleaning and nail trims as well as brush them on a regular basis to ensure their coats remain in top condition.  Our expectant mothers are provided with high quality dog food as well as health checked prior to pregnancy.  And once the puppies are born, they too are provided with excellent care as well as imprinted with livestock and handled on a regular basis to be accustomed to people.

GUARANTEES:  We offer a health guarantee as well as a return policy on puppies. New owners will also be provided with AKC registration papers for their puppy.

DEWORMING and VACCINATIONS:  Puppies are dewormed at 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks old.  We also vaccinate puppies at 7 weeks old to start their initial protection.  Please see "PUPPY SHOTS" tab to the right  for important information about puppy shots.

WEANED:  Puppies are weaned from their mother at 6 weeks and will be able to go their new homes at 8 weeks old.

UPDATES:  We provide updates and pictures to owners who have reserved a puppy so that they can see the progress of their puppy from birth to puppy pick-up day.

SELECTION:  No visits are allowed until the puppies are at least 4 weeks old. We do provide first male and female pick to the first families that reserve a male and a female.  Selection is based upon what families are looking for.  We provide input and recommendations to each family on which puppy would be the best fit for their specific  needs.

PICK UP:  Puppies may be picked up at 8 weeks old, but no later than 9 weeks old.  If a family is unable to pick up the puppy prior by 9 weeks old, please notify us in writing; otherwise we will assume the puppy is a no sale and will be made available for sale to other customers. Please note that if the puppy is not picked up by 9 weeks of age a daily boarding/training rate of $20.00 per day will be incurred by the family and all outstanding balances will be due on or before puppy pick up date.  If the puppy is not picked up by 10 weeks old, we will assume the family is not going to adopt the puppy, therefore, the puppy will be made available to other clients, and no refund will be provided.  We reserve the right to withhold puppies for our program, which will not be for sale.  We also reserve the right to refuse the sale of puppy.

NOTE:  Due to USDA restrictions, we cannot ship puppies.  Owners must make arrangements to pickup their puppy or transport puppy through an licensed animal transport service.
